Peripheral pumps function as a type of volume displacing pump i.e. the fluid is first drawn through a suction flange and pushed into an annular channel. A peripheral impeller rotates inside the annular channel to transform the pumped liquid in a centrifugal motion.
Algo Peripheral Pumps (AP Series) have steep capacity or head curves, which make them highly usable in pressure sensitive systems. Because of their low suction heads and narrow columns, there is very little chance for abrasive material entering in during its operations. In fact, they can also transport liquids with a higher gas content without adversely impacting the system.
Peripheral pumps are used in car wash pumps, small boilers and other applications where clean water is required to be transferred or for boosting water pressure.
